The sun on its way to setting makes a fitting end to this series of pictures. The color here doesn't do it justice as it really was a "blood red" because of the smoke. Though the fire will continue (est containment Sep 15), the Station Fire is now on the other side of the mountain except for some backfires.

The "Station" Fire in the foothills above LaCanada CA, and Altadena. Dave & I work Ham radio duties. The incident "base camp" at Hansen Dam Recreation area is west of the fire area. A base camp is where supplies are deployed from, so they are always located well away from the fire.
